Checkpoint Yields 1 DUI Arrest, Open Container Citation

One person was arrested for drunk driving during a checkpoint in the Obetz area Friday night.

The Franklin County DUI Task Force operated the checkpoint on Alum Creek Drive south of Williams Road in the Village of Obetz and Hamilton Township between 8 p.m. and midnight.

During that time, 298 vehicles passed through the zone. Of those, 22 were diverted and one OVI arrest was made.

One person was actually cited for having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle while driving through the checkpoint.

Task force members issued a total of 29 citations.
