WEST CHESTER, OH (WDTN) — A homicide investigation is underway in West Chester after police found four people dead inside an apartment late Sunday.

West Chester Township Police spoke with reporters Monday about the investigation.

Chief of Police Joel Herzog said Monday police received a 911 call around 9:50 pm Sunday from the Lakefront apartment complex. The call was made by a family member who discovered the bodies.

Herzog said four people, three women and one man, were found inside the apartment with apparent gunshot wounds. The four victims are related, according to Herzog.

Police said the victims are all adults and would only say there were multiple gunshots inside the apartment. Herzog said there are children that also live in the apartment and are now with family members.

Herzog said it is early in the investigation but said it does not appear the shooter or shooters were among the victims.
