Friday Freebies: Five free museums to learn something new in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH (WCMH) - There is no better way to learn something new than to go your local museums.

Here are five completely free museums to visit in central Ohio to satisfy all of your artistic needs!

 

Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum:

If you are a fan of the comics, than you will thoroughly enjoy the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & museum. It holds the largest collection of comics and and cartoons on the planet and it is completely free. It is open 1-5pm Tuesdays through Thursdays, but be sure to check out their website for more information.

 

Cultural Arts Center:

The Cultural Arts Center is a great place to discover new artists around the city. Not only is it free, it also offers a wide array of hands-on opportunities. Check out all of their classes on their website which includes schedule of all the classes you can take in 2019.   

 

King Arts Complex:

Fans of the hit movie Black Panther will love the King Arts Complex’s current exhibit. Currently you can see, The Black Panther: Celebrating 50+ Years of Black Superheroes. They offer interactive exhibits and many events throughout the year.

 

Ohio Craft Museum:

This museum is great for any fan of interior decorating. They currently host a exhibit that’s all about the beauty of Retooling everyday objects. The Ohio Craft museum offers something for people of all ages. As well as their unique exhibits, they also offer a summer camp for children.

 

Orton Geological Museum:

You can rocks of all shapes and sizes at this museum. This museum is always free, so don’t be afraid to bring the whole family. You can check their website to arrange a tour.
