Many Catholics and others of the Christian faith abstain from eating meat on Fridays during Lent, and instead choose to eat fish. We asked NBC4 viewers where their favorite places are to get their fried fish fix in central Ohio.

This family owned restaurant grew from what was a yearly “fun in the sun family day” to become one of the area’s favorite soul food eateries. It’s something that happens only once a year but Blendon Masonic Lodge #339’s annual fish fry has become a can’t miss event. This all-you-can-eat fish fry features hand-breaded Alaskan Pollock, applesauce, coleslaw, hand-cut French fries, and macaroni and cheese. All proceeds benefit the Ohio Special Olympics and Westerville Special Olympics. This year’s fish fry will be Friday, April 12 from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

The all-you-can-eat dinner buffet features fried and baked fish, baked potatoes, mac and cheese, cole slaw, soup and kid-friendly favorites like grilled cheese and Jet’s cheese pizza. The lunch features fish fillets, French fries, cole slaw and a beverage. Both the lunch and dinner are held on Fridays through April 12. Lunch is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner is from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Knights of Columbus Immaculate Heart Council 5899 are back with their annual Lenten Fish Fry every Friday evening through April 12. Dinners feature all-you-can-eat fried ocean perch, a serving of baked cod or a serving of fried shrimp, along with baked potato or fries, coleslaw or mac and cheese, green beans, bread, dessert and a drink.
