Summer may be starting to wind down, but that doesn’t mean the fun is over!

There are a ton of free and discounted things to do in the Columbus area, including the Food Truck Festival, free concerts, Toy Story on the Columbus Commons and much more. Here are our top 10 picks for this weekend:

All weekend:

Upper Arlington Public Library Book Sale

Calling all bookworms! It’s time to stock up at the Summer Book Sale at the Upper Arlington Public Library. There will be thousands of used books, CDs, DVDs, magazines and more, with most items priced between 25 cents and $2. All proceeds from the sale support the Upper Arlington Public Library, including all the programs the library hosts for kids and adults year-round.

Actors’ Theatre presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Get kids into Shakespeare before school starts with the Actors’ Theatre of Columbus’ performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Schiller Park. This classic comedy marries romance and magic and is often the play that many cite as their reason for loving the bard. The event is free, but donations are encouraged.

Friday and Saturday:

Columbus Food Truck Festival

The 8th annual Columbus Food Truck Festival takes over the Scioto Mile this Friday and Saturday. Admission is free for everyone, and the event not only features more than 60 food trucks (including one of NBC4 viewer’s favorite food trucks), but also live music on two stages, children’s activities, and arts and crafts vendors.

Local ‘n Live

Head over to The District Pourhouse in the Gateway Friday and Saturday evening for CD102.5’s Local ‘n Live series. On Friday, Just Friends duo Jacob Campbell and Andrew Riel perform, as does Americana artist Dave Buker. On Saturday, alternative rock and pop band Keating performs along with alternative folk quintet Embers of Arson. If it rains, the event will be moved to the indoor World of Beer stage.

Friday:

Summer Night Hike

Explore Char-Mar Ridge Park like nocturnal animals do at the final Summer Night Hike of the year. You’ll use your senses to explore the park and discover how animals use sight, smell, hearing and touch to navigate. This free event is for everyone ages 7 and up.

Volunteers of America National Thrift Shop Day Sale

VOA is celebrating National Thrift Shop Day by offering 50% off everything in store at all of their central Ohio locations. Every purchase helps support programs that provide housing and assistance to homeless individuals, families and veterans in central Ohio.

Saturday:

Peach Fest 2018

Head over to Lynd Fruit Farm on Saturday for Peach Fest 2018. Admission and parking are free and there will also be free wagon rides and kids’ crafts and games. There’s also a watercolor class, music, food trucks, fresh peach pie and more.
