The holiday season is in full swing and there’s plenty of family-friendly fun to be had in and around Columbus this weekend, and the best part is it’s all free!

How does an evening filled with horse-drawn wagon rides, ice carving demonstrations, children’s games, and a tree lighting sound? You can get all that and more at the Pickerington Village Holiday Gathering Friday night. This free family-friendly event starts at 5 p.m.
From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, the Worthington Community Center transforms into the North Pole for its annual holiday party. There will be crafts, games and a visit from Santa.
Take the kids over to the Easton Town Center Barnes & Noble store Friday night and experience the magic of the beloved Christmas classic, The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg. There will be free hot chocolate and cookies in the café. Don’t forget to wear your favorite cozy pajamas! Storytime starts at 7 p.m.
Watch one of the country’s most loved holiday films on the big screen for free this Saturday at The Drexel. The movie starts at 10 a.m. and is part of the America’s Greatest Film Series, presented in partnership with PNC.
Come meet Santa Paws and visit your favorite animals at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium this Saturday! Admission is free with a donation of an animal enrichment gift. Take the kids on an epic Christmas-themed scavenger hunt through Historic Dublin this Saturday! From 1 to 3 p.m., 12 playful little elves will be hiding throughout Historic Dublin and it’s your job to find them all. Pick up your Elf Hunt cards at one of the participating businesses and get your card stamped every time you find an elf. Join Chabad of Columbus at Easton Town Center Saturday night for their Chanukah celebration, complete with a special menorah lighting on the town square. There will be raffle prizes, music, dancing, refreshments, sufganiyot and dreidels!
From 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, stop by the Historical Village at Weaver Park for live entertainment, refreshments, kids’ activities, a petting zoo, horse-drawn wagon rides and an1800s-style “Santa in the Caboose!” The entire event is free and designed for the whole family.
