That’s right, good old St. Nick himself will be all over Columbus this weekend! For those of you with children eager to meet Santa, you know those precious photos with him can get pretty pricey. Luckily, there are many free and inexpensive photo opportunities with him in Columbus this weekend. 

All weekend:

Photos with Santa at Easton

From now until Christmas Eve, you can get a cute photo of your kids with Santa in the Easton Station Building at Easton Town Center. You can purchase a 5×7 photo for just $5 or snap a pic with your own camera for free.

Santa Photos at Cabela’s

Free crafts and a free 4×6 studio-quality photo await you at Cabela’s from now until Christmas Eve. Photo package options are available as well, and package prices vary.

Home for the Holidays Weekend

Downtown Delaware is celebrating the Christmas season all weekend long. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the lighting of the Main Street Delaware Christmas Tree Friday night and Schedule a visit with the jolly couple at The Strand Theatre Saturday. Visits with Santa are free and a 5×7 professional photo is just $5.

Friday:

Upper Arlington Winter Festival and Tree Lighting

The City of Upper Arlington is celebrating the season Friday evening at Mallway Park. This free event will have caroling, a tree lighting ceremony, horse-drawn carriage rides, live reindeer, ice sculpting, a life-size snow globe for that perfect Instagram photo and of course free visits with Santa.

Westerville Tree Lighting Ceremony

Uptown Westerville is kicking off the holiday season with a tree lighting ceremony Friday night complete with live holiday music, candle lighting celebration, holiday cookies and photos with Santa Claus. After visiting with Santa, children can pick up a free gift to take home.

Saturday:

Lazarus Santa’s Workshop

If you remember visiting Santa at Lazarus as a kid and want to share the experience with your own children, head over to the Lazarus building on Saturday between 2 and 5 p.m. Mr. Claus will be available for free photos in the original sleigh used by the Lazarus department store and there will be arts and crafts and free spins on the Columbus Commons carousel.

Grove City Christmas Celebration

This free family-friendly holiday celebration has it all: live music, caroling, a parade, the official Grove City tree lighting and visits with Santa! You won’t want to miss it. Parents can take their own photo for free or purchase one with a $5 contribution to T.W.I.G. 184 benefiting Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Short North Holiday Hop

On Saturday, the Short North Gallery Hop transforms into a winter wonderland. There will be street performers, decorated retail windows, lights, new art exhibitions and the district tree lighting in Poplar Park at 6 p.m., hosted by Nina West and NBC4’s Monica Day. Santa will also be on hand at the Holiday Headquarters (780 N. High Street) from noon to 4 p.m. for photos.

Saturday and Sunday:

Experience the Season at Oakland Nurseries

On Saturdays and Sundays until Dec. 16, bring the kids to any Oakland Nursery location between noon and 3:30 p.m. and meet Santa! Take your own pictures for free and experience the lights, music and merriment of their Winter Wonderland decorations!

Sunday:

HolidayVille

The 9th annual HolidayVille returns to Clintonville on Dec. 2 with a neighborhood-wide shopping event featuring carolers, cookies and sales at nearly 30 neighborhood businesses. Enjoy free Jolly Trolley rides throughout the neighborhood. Stop by HolidayVille Headquarters and meet Santa and get a hot chocolate for the kids.
