4’s Army to Host Day of Giving September 18

Hurricane Florence Relief Efforts

 

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Hurricane Florence impacted the Carolina’s with heavy rain, flooding and severe damage has left the people in those communities in need of resources to help rebuild their lives. This is why NBC4 (WCMH-TV) is mobilizing 4’s Army for a Day of Giving with American Red Cross, Rock City Church to collect monetary donations and needed supplies for people affected by the storm.

 

On Tuesday, September 18 Red Cross volunteers will staff a phone bank from 6:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Viewers can call (614) 821-4444 to donate money.  Central Ohioans can also come to NBC4 studios, located at 3165 Olentangy River Road in Columbus, to drop off supplies that will be donated for recovery efforts, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.  The most needed items are water and cleaning supplies.  Additional needed items include:

Manual Can Opener

Disinfectant Cleaner

Canned Vegetables

Packaged Snacks

All-purpose Cleaner

Ready-to-eat Canned Meals

Five Pound Bucket

Toothbrushes

Canned Soup/Soup Mix

Sledge Hammers

Scrub Brushes and Sponges

Bagged Rice/Pasta

Shovels

Paper Towels

Bagged Dried Beans

Large Black Garbage Bags

Spray Bottle

Dried Fruit

Flashlights with Batteries

Rubber Gloves

Nuts

Diapers and Disposable Wipes

Sunscreen

Peanut Butter

Hand Wipes

Insect Repellant

Dry, Powdered Milk

Cases of Water

Bottle of Bleach

Baby Food (no glass jars)
