HILLIARD, Ohio (WCMH) — A tenth individual with ties to a Hilliard nursing home and assisted living facility has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to Ryan Stubenrauch, a spokesperson for the Mill Run Rehabilitation Center, an employee received their positive test results on Monday.
So far, eight of the facility’s employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, as have two residents.
“Several of those employees have recovered,” said Stubenrauch. “One of those employees has already been cleared to return to work and has returned to work.”
Stubenrauch said the infected residents are being kept in an isolation wing of the facility.
“Any residents who either tested positive or may have interacted with someone who is positive, are in the isolation wing,” he said. “That wing has dedicated employees and dedicated equipment to eliminate the possibility of contamination between the two.”
The employees at Mill Run are also wearing personal protective equipment while in the building, according to Stubenrauch.
Franklin County Public Health is reporting a total of 17 confirmed cases of COVID-19, where the individuals involved have ties to a nursing home. A spokesperson for Columbus Public Health says district officials know of eight similar cases.
Mill Creek announced four additional cases on Sunday.
