Meteorologist McKenna King joined the NBC4 team in January 2022. Before that, McKenna worked in Salt Lake City; Boise, Idaho; and and Tampa, Florida, where she forecasted everything from snowstorms to sunshine, as well as thunderstorms and hurricanes.
McKenna grew up in Northern Utah and earned her degree in broadcast journalism from Brigham Young University. She earned her BMP Certificate from Mississippi State University.
A Utah native, McKenna loves the outdoors. She grew up visiting Yellowstone National Park several times each year and exploring all of the different hiking trails Utah and the surrounding states have to offer. She loves to ski and snowboard, as well as getting outside for a bike ride or hike, or to take her Golden Retriever Polly on a walk around the city.
McKenna loves sports and the sports culture here in central Ohio. She grew up playing competitive softball and her favorite sport to watch is baseball. She is a big fan of the New York Yankees, and she also enjoyed her time cheering for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tampa Bay Lightning as a former resident of the Tampa Bay area. With that said, she also cheers on the local sports teams here in Ohio.
McKenna is also a proud Disney-adult and Magic Keyholder at both U.S. Disney parks, which is where she spends most of her vacation time, donning a pair of Mickey ears and double fisting churros.
If you see McKenna out and about, stop and say hello! She’ll probably have her dog Polly with her!
