Karina Cheung

Karina was born in Akron, Ohio and grew up in Altoona, Pennsylvania. She is happy to have made it back to the Buckeye State!

Since joining the NBC4 team, she’s reported on the pandemic’s impact on small businesses, the vaccination rollout, and the police shooting of Andre’ Hill.

Karina started working in TV and radio in Philadelphia as production assistant at KYW NewsRadio. After a year in the City of Brotherly Love, she made the move back to Altoona to work for WTAJ News, where she dedicated time to local government and county news. After that, she spent time reporting in Pennsylvania’s capital city, Harrisburg. There she spent time covering Pennsylvania politics, life in the pandemic, rallies for racial justice and the 2020 election.

Karina is a proud Temple Owl (Cherry on!) and moved to Columbus with her two rescue cats, Pan and SuzyQ. She loves to cook and try new restaurants. You’ll find her scoping out the best ice cream shops and asking everyone where to find the best ramen noodles. Give her a follow on Facebook and Twitter, she’d love to hear from you!
