Hattie Hawks joined the NBC4 family in July of 2016 and is the Weekend Anchor for NBC4 Today. She’s a Temple University graduate with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science. She has strong family ties in Columbus, spending a lot of time here through the years, and is excited to call it home!
Before joining the NBC4 team, Hattie began her career at the ABC affiliate in Winchester Virginia where she was the 6pm anchor. A move to Appalachia, would make her the Midday and 4pm anchor at WSAZ in Huntington West Virginia. There she covered countless breaking news stories, investigations into the local drug epidemic, and even managed to throw in a lot of fun along the way.
Her most memorable stories include the deadly flash flooding in Johnson County Kentucky. While touring the devastated area, she spotted a dog which happened to be the last living thing found after being swept away by flood waters. She’s most proud of a story that shed light on the problem of human trafficking — prompting a victim to come forward and seek help.
Hattie enjoys breaking news, telling your stories with an upbeat attitude and can be found most times with a smile on her face. She lives with her husband in Clintonville with their two fur babies, Max and Sophie. She’d love to hear from you via e-mail, Facebook and Twitter!
