
Hattie Hawks joined the NBC4 family in July of 2016 and is the Weekend Anchor for NBC4 Today. She’s a Temple University graduate with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science.
Prior to NBC4 she spent time anchoring in Virginia and West Virginia. Over the course of her career she has covered countless local and national breaking news stories and matters close to the heart.
Her most memorable stories include saving a dog who had survived deadly flash flooding, and her Fighting 126 series where she highlighted the issue of firefighter cancer. In 2018, Columbus Professional Firefighters with the IAFF Local 67 recognized her efforts with a plaque and nominated her for a national TV award with the IAFF where she received runner up. She enjoys telling stories of animal advocacy and spends a lot of her free time volunteering and fostering with local rescues. She’s proud to have written stories that directly led to the funding of rescues and adoption of countless dogs.
