COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — NBC4 is committed to bringing viewers important in-depth information on Alzheimer’s Disease with interviews with local experts, personal stories from families and information on treatments and breakthroughs.

Hosted by Colleen Marshall, the 2020 special, “A Journey through Alzheimer’s,” aired Thursday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. on NBC4.

During the program, viewers had the opportunity to connect with virtual CALL 4 volunteers, who answered questions, directed callers to resources and provided information about the amazing programs offered by the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Ohio. 

The special also addressed navigating the agonizing journey through Alzheimer’s in the time of COVID-19 and the devastating toll it can take on someone you love.

We heard from a man whose heart was broken because coronavirus was keeping him away from his wife of nearly 60 years. Learn how he found a way to reconnect with her, even when they are apart.

Plus, news of what might be the most promising treatment breakthrough in the nearly 15 years NBC4 has been doing this program.

Also, families who are on the journey through Alzheimer’s face some tough conversations with children who might not understand what’s happening to grandma. How one woman created a new way to answer those difficult questions.
