MARION, Ohio - A 48-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with an arson in Marion that destroyed three homes.

The fire was discovered at about 3 a.m. in the 400 block of West Columbia Street Tuesday morning.

According to fire officials, the fire started at one of the homes where four adults and 10 kids were living. A neighbor kicked in the door to alert the family. The family was able to safely escape, but their home was totally destroyed by the blaze.

Fire officials said the fire started from a Molotov cocktail that the suspect allegedly threw at the home after a dispute with the children.

Police said that as part of a joint investigation, a suspect was identified from witness statements. Police arrested Martin Kiefer, of Marion, and charged him with three counts of aggravated arson.

No other details were released, but NBC4 will update as we learn new information.
