CPD: Log-Wielding Man Robs West Columbus Dollar Store

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Columbus police officers are searching for the suspect that allegedly used a log to rob a Family Dollar in west Columbus on June 6.

According to police, a man entered the Family Dollar located at 128 North Wilson Road  at about 7:15 pm. and bought several items.

Police say the same man returned about an hour and a half later with his hood pulled over his head and armed with a log.

The suspect demanded the clerk fill a grocery bag with cash, and then allegedly attacked a second clerk with the log after they attempted to intervene.

According to police, there was a physical altercation before the suspect ran from the store. The suspect left his jacket, a T-shirt, and the log at the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male, between the ages of 23 and 26. He is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium build, and a goatee.  He was last seen wearing a dark-colored T-shirt, denim jeans, and black and white tennis shoes.
