Man Shot His Brother During Argument, CPD Says

COLUMBUS, Ohio - A man was arrested by Columbus police officers after he allegedly shot his brother during an argument outside a southeast Columbus home.

Officers and medic personnel were called to the home located in the 1500 block of East Whittier Street on a report of a shooting at about 7:44 p.m. Monday.

According to detectives, 60-year-old DeMoris Winbush Jr. and his brother, 62-year-old Michael Flowers, were arguing in front of the home when Winbush allegedly pulled a handgun and shot Flowers in the right leg.

Winbush was arrested at the scene, according to police. He has been charged with felonious assault.

Flowers was transported to Grant Medical Center in stable condition.

The shooting remains under investigation.
