Two women were taken to the hospital after they wereaccidentally shot by a neighbor Thursday afternoon.
Just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Marion police were dispatchedto the 400 block of South Prospect Street on a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found two women who had been hit by buckshot.
According to a report from Marion police, five people were in a downstairsapartment for a prayer service when the neighbor upstairs accidentallydischarged his shotgun. The buckshot traveled through the ceiling, striking twowomen.
The women were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuriesto the cheek, arm, and leg.
The other three people in the room were not injured.Police said the neighbor, 59-year-old Terry Thacker, was charged in connection with the shooting.
