WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio - A Washington Court House man was taken into custody after an execution of a search warrant Sunday night.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, deputies executed a search warrant at about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Campbell Street following a covert drug investigation into the trafficking of heroin.

Deputies said that after they entered the home, 26-year-old Shane Cooper began experiencing a medical issue and was transported to the Fayette County Memorial Hospital.

Deputies seized a substance that was later determined to be heroin, drug paraphernalia, and a vehicle registered to Cooper from the home.

Cooper is being held on charges which include trafficking of heroin, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

The sheriff's office said that once released from the hospital, Cooper will be held in the Fayette County Jail in lieu of bond. He is expected to appear before the Washington County Court House Municipal Court for arraignment on February 24.
