WHITEHALL, Ohio - A Madison Plains boys basketball team is sidelined after the school superintendent says the players got into a fight before a recent game, and recorded it.

The fight occurred on Thursday, January 30, at Whitehall Yearling High School.

According to Madison Plains Local Schools Superintendent Bernie Hall, the players began fighting each other before the team took the court.

Hall says the fight stemmed from a prank. Dozens of players were involved in the fight.

One of the students recorded the whole incident on a school-issued iPad, which has been turned over to Whitehall police detectives.

"We don't tolerate that and we try to deal with it and we try to deal with it fairly and I think in this case we did deal with it fairly," said Hall

Hall said the players will be punished based on their involvement. Many of them will miss school and future games as a result of the fight.

The district will make adjustments to make it tougher for students to misuse school issued iPads.
