Firefighters were called to a fire at a warehouse in Chillicothe Sunday morning.

According to the Ross County Sheriff's Office, firefighters responded to the warehouse located in the area of Lancaster Road and U.S. 50 at about 7 a.m.

Fire officials say they don't know what caused the fire at the warehouse.

The building was storing bales of paper for Gladfelter, a global paper supplier. The warehouse was part of an old World War I ammunitions plant.

One firefighter was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

Liberty Township Fire Chief Kent Leach says the biggest challenge was getting enough water to fight the flames, "Our first in truck we had froze on another fire it was on and we didn't know it had a leak when we got here so we had to scramble to get another truck in here."

The State Fire Marshal is expected to investigate what caused the fire Monday.
