5-Year-Old Transported After Allegedly Shooting Himself

A 5-year-old boy was hospitalized after, police said, he shot himself in the foot.

According to Columbus police, at about 8:14 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a shooting in the area of Eton Grove and Leonard Avenue.

When police arrived on scene, they say they found a 5-year-old boy with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the foot.

The boy was transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital in stable condition.

Police are talking to individuals who were in the residence at the time of the shooting and continue to investigate the incident.

Police said no gun has been recovered at this time.
