Police are investigating the apparent suicide of a 17-year-old Westerville high school student Wednesday morning.
According to police, the student was found hanging from the bike path tunnel at Sunbury road and Marlene Drive at about 9:48 a.m.
The student was not identified, but police said he was a student at Westerville South High School.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, but there are no indications of foul play.
The student's body has been released to the Franklin County coroner.

School officials are following crisis plan protocols and will have grief counselors available in the morning for staff and students who may need additional support to process this loss to the school community. District officials and the Westerville City Police continue to work closely together and will release additional information as it becomes known.
We extend our sincerest condolences to the student's family, friends and loved ones.
