Shooting Victim Found Dead Inside South Linden Home

COLUMBUS, Ohio -

One person was found dead after an apparent shooting in Columbus' South Linden neighborhood.

According to Columbus police, officers were sent to the 1100 block of E. 20th Avenue on a report of a breaking and entering at about 5:25 p.m. Saturday.

Medics pronounced a man dead inside a home.

According to a police dispatcher, someone reported hearing shots fired in the area earlier in the day.

According to detectives on the scene, the victim did not live at the home.

Homicide detectives said the man appeared to have been dead for several hours before police found his body.

The victim has not been identified.

Several juveniles were taken to CPD headquarters for questioning.

This is the 84th homicide for 2013.
