A man is arrested for a robbery after SWAT officers respond to a west Columbus residence.
According to the Columbus Police Department, at about 11:00 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to Sullivant Avenue near the Rocky Top bar on the report of a robbery.
Police say a man was leaving the bar, when 52-year-old Jason M. Righter, approached and demanded money from the man.
According to police, when the victim refused to give up any money, an unknown male suspect, pointed a handgun at him and then Righter knocked the victim to the ground.
When the victim was on the ground, Righter, the unknown male suspect and an unknown female suspect began to assault the victim and allegedly stole his money.
The victim was able to flee the area, and witnessed the suspects run towards a residence in the 300 block of Central Avenue.
The victim was able to call police and SWAT officers responded to the house.
Police say numerous people exited the house, including one person who was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
SWAT then used tear gas on the house and three more people exited the residence, including two with misdemeanor warrants.
According to police, SWAT then made entry into the house and found Righter, hiding under a bed in an upstairs bedroom, and was later identified by the victim in the robbery.
Righter has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery.
Police continue to investigate and search for the two other suspects.
