Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol arrested a 29-year-old Dayton woman was arrested during a traffic stop near Lucasville on Monday.
According to troopers, troopers stopped a 2013 Nissan Altima, driven by Tya Gurley, in the southbound lanes of U.S. 23 for following too closely at about 7:30 p.m. As troopers were approaching the vehicle, Gurley allegedly surrendered three grams of heroin.
Troopers searched her vehicle and found an additional 29 grams of what appeared to be heroin. The approximate total street value of the heroin is $4,800.
Troopers suspected that Gurley may have overdosed. She was transported to the Southern Ohio Medical Center.
Gurley was checked out, and later taken to the Scioto County Jail.
She is charged with possession of heroin and tampering with evidence.
