Man Hospitalized With Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

COLUMBUS, Ohio -

A local man was taken to the hospital after he reportedly shot himself in the leg Thursday evening.

Columbus police officers responded to the intersection Aberdeen Avenue and Atwood Terrace on a report of a shooting at about 7:41 p.m.

Officers made contact with the victim, 24-year-old Robert McPhail.

Through further investigation it was determined that McPhail was at a friend's house and shot himself while mishandling a firearm.

No other information was readily available.
