DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio -

Delaware police arrested three woman early Tuesday, accused of stealing more than a dozen mobile phones from an area Wal-Mart.

According to Delaware police, officers were dispatched to the Wal-Mart on the south side of Delaware shortly after midnight regarding a report of three women taking several cell phones from the store without paying.

The officer was provided a description of the car as well as a license plate number.

The officer continued south on U.S. 23 until he encountered the car in front of another Wal-Mart on U.S. 23 in Lewis Center. The officer attempted to pull the car over at that time.

According to police, the driver did not immediately stop for the officer. After continuing south at about 40 mph, the car was eventually stopped in front of a gas station about a quarter of a mile away.

Sixteen stolen cell phones were found inside the car as well as phone accessories, police said.

Police arrested Lakresha Blair, Shirlene Jackson, and a third woman that police say provided a false identity to officers.

The three women were charged with felony receiving stolen property and were taken to the Delaware County Jail.
