PIKE TOWNSHIP, Ohio -

A man is dead after crashing his vehicle in an early morning crash in Perry County Sunday.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at about 3:04 a.m. Sunday, 20-year-old Ty C. Moore of New Lexington, was driving a 2009 Toyota Scion northbound on state Route 93 near Pike Township, when he lost control of his vehicle.

Troopers say the car struck a tree after traveling off the left side of the roadway, and over an embankment.

Moore was ejected from vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

According to troopers, Moore was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and speed is a suspected factor.

Troopers continue to investigate the crash, and say it is unclear at this time whether alcohol or drugs also played a factor in the crash.
