A 17-year-old boy was found dead in front of a home on the city's south side Thursday morning.
According to police, the victim's body was discovered at about 6:45 a.m. at a home in the area of Oakwood Avenue and Forest Street.
Police said a paving crew working in the area was alerted by a passerby that a male was lying on the sidewalk in front of a home in the 900 block of Oakwood Avenue.
Upon arrival, the crew found the victim at the location unresponsive. Emergency crews were called to the scene, and the victim was pronounced dead at about 7:11 a.m.
The victim was identified as 17-year-old Lamont Frazier.
Police said Frazier had sustained a gunshot wound to the upper part of his body.
