U.S. 33 West Of Dublin Reopens Following Downed Wires

Posted: Updated:
DUBLIN, Ohio -

Traffic on U.S. 33, between Interstate 270 and Avery Road, was closed in both directions because of wires down Saturday afternoon.

Dublin police officers responded to the lanes shortly after 2 p.m. Traffic was restored before 5 p.m.

The wires were reported down following a brief afternoon thunderstorm leaving long stretches of the roadway empty in both directions until removal of the wires was complete.

Minor traffic crashes caused some injuries in areas where traffic was rerouted.  No injury was serious, police said.

Another trouble spot for traffic was found on eastbound U.S. 33 at Scott's Lawn Road.

A traffic backup related to the wires-down situation resulted in a rear-end collision that was handled by the Union County Sheriff's Office.
