Wandering Woman, 82, Identified & Returned Home

Posted: Updated:

An 82-year-old woman who was found wandering near Dierker Road has been identified and safely returned to her caregivers.

According to police, the woman did not know her name when she was found Saturday night. Police found a translator for the woman, who spoke only Mandarin.

Police released her photo in hopes of identifying the woman, and her caregivers eventually identified her from her photo on the NBC4 Facebook page.

The caregivers had reported her missing after they returned home from work Saturday evening and found that she was gone.

She was reunited with her caregivers at about 10 p.m. Saturday.

Police said the people in the household have been in the country for about six months.  They explained to police that normally, the two people who watch over the woman, work shifts that keep one of them with her, but Saturday both worked at the same time.

Police report the woman is well and safe with her caregivers.
