Fayette County Sheriff's Office Warns Of Possible Paving Scam

Posted: Updated:
FAYETTE COUNTY, Ohio -

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is warning about a possible scam.

Deputies said there have been reports of two males wearing bright green vests driving around in a white Ford truck equipped with an LED light bar, telling homeowners they had leftover blacktop and would use it to pave driveways.

The price quoted was very high per square foot, according to deputies.

Investigators said it is possible the men are trying to portray themselves as state workers.

If you see the vehicle and the two males, you are asked to contact the Fayette County sheriff's Office at 740-335-6170.

Deputies would like to validate their identities and credentials.
