Columbus hazmat and bomb squad crews were called to a downtown building Wednesday afternoon, but about an hour later, the scene was cleared.
According to the Columbus Division of Fire, the crews responded to 37 W. Broad St. at about 3 p.m. By 4 p.m., the emergency crews were cleared from the scene.
There was no word on why crews were called to the scene, or what, if anything, was found.
The building houses Sen. Rob Portman's Columbus office, but his office told NBC4 that "no hazardous materials were delivered to Senator Portman's Columbus office."
No other details were released, but NBC4 will update as we learn new information.
