Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, Ohio -

A Franklin County man has been arrested after he allegedly made threatening statements toward President Barack Obama through a Twitter account.

According to a criminal complaint, Daniel Temple allegedly tweeted a series of bizarre threats at the president's twitter account.

The Secret Service noticed the threats on March 24.

Using the account name @dttvinfo, Temple allegedly threatened to kill the president, according to the complaint.

The Secret Service turned to its Internet threat unit to trace the Twitter account to an apartment on Malibu Drive in east Columbus.

The complaint states agents went to the apartment to question Temple, who reportedly admitted to the posting the threats.

A post from March 24 reads:

"Apparently this site was flagged about a week ago by D.C. and for good reason. Secret Service came to see me today."

Temple is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on Tuesday.
