Posted: Updated:

A postal worker came to the rescue of a man who set himself on fire at an apartment complex Wednesday afternoon.

The fire was reported at about 1 p.m. in the 8000 block of Running Fox Road.

Witnesses at the scene said a man ran outside of his apartment after somehow catching himself on fire.

It is unclear at this time how the fire started.

Witnesses said the man was struggling to extinguish the flames on his pants when the postal worker took off his coat and snuffed out the flames on the victim.

The man was transported to The Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center, but his condition is unknown at this time.

Arson investigators were called to the scene.
