ATHENS, Ohio -
A New Lexington man was arrested after it was found he was driving under 52 open suspensions.
A trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol Athens Post, stopped Shad Curtis Blankenship of New Lexington, Ohio, near the Stimson Avenue on US 33 near Athens.
The citation issued reports Blankenship driving at 72 mph in a 55 mph zone.
The trooper found that Blankenship was driving despite having 52 open suspensions on his record.
The suspensions on his record were related to traffic offenses dating back to 1997. Troopers say open suspensions relate to incomplete portions of previous sentences--such as being ordered to get insurance and failing to do so.
Blankenship was incarcerated in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail and is scheduled to appear in Athens County Municipal Court, March 11.
