WESTERVILLE, Ohio -
In the Battle Against Bullying, Westerville North High School students are working to Spread the Word to End the Word.
The students are taking part in the nationwide effort to educate people to be more sensitive to those with disabilities and refrain from using the "R word."
"Our students actually go out and give speeches in the classes and talk about how that word affects them, and how just because they have a disability does not mean that they can't do things just like anybody else," said Amy Brill, a teacher at Westerville North.
The students hosted a special lunch Thursday, titled Celebrating Our Differences.
The students sold T-shirts and anyone who bought one got to enjoy lunch catered by local restaurants around Westerville.
