COLUMBUS, Ohio -

Police have identified the woman who was found dead in a basement on the city's east side this week, and the two previous persons of interest have been questioned and released.

The body of a woman was found in a home in the 1100 block of Wildwood Avenue, after a woman called 911, saying that her son threatened her and tried to kill her.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Daivena I. Clay.

Franklin County Coroner Jan Gorniak said the cause of death has not yet been determined. Gorniak said she hopes toxicology and other tests will reveal more information.

The woman told neighbors she escaped the home after waking to the smell of bleach, and found her youngest son in her home with his girlfriend. She told officials that they tried to lure her into the basement, and that her son tried to choke her.

When officers arrived, the woman's son and his girlfriend were gone, but inside the home, officers found the body of a female.

Police said there was no weapon was found inside the home.

Two people were taken into custody Wednesday night and questioned.  They were released after being interviewed, but police have not provided additional detail at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Columbus police homicide squad at 614-645-4730 or Crime Stoppers at 614-645-TIPS.
