BEREA, Ohio -

Two people were arrested after troopers found 890 oxycodone pills in their vehicle during a traffic stop.

At about 8:03 a.m. Tuesday, troopers stopped a Toyota with West Virginia license plates after a lane violation on the Ohio Turnpike in Lorain County.

According to a report, upon approaching the vehicle, troopers saw drug paraphernalia in plain view. Troopers also witnessed the passenger throwing an object onto the rear floorboard as they were instructed to exit the vehicle. Troopers found five oxycodone pills inside a flashlight, a baggy of white powder, and nine additional prescription pills. As troopers interviewed the driver, Hannah Aloi, 23, she revealed 885 oxycodone pills on her person.

Aloi and her 31-year-old passenger, Andrew Stayton, were arrested and charged with possession of a scheduled II substance and aggravated drug trafficking, both first-degree felonies, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

If convicted, each could face up to 20 years in prison and up to a $40,000 fine.
