2 Shot, Suspect In Custody In Temple Parking Lot

COLUMBUS, Ohio -

Two people were injured, and a suspect is in custody after a shooting in the parking lot of a temple on the city's west side Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Columbus Ohio (Latter-day Saints) Temple at 3870 Gateway Blvd. at about 4:41 p.m.

According to police, Soth Sin, 33, and Neng Sith, 52, were in a 2010 Toyota Corolla in the parking lot of the temple when Sokkha Chant, 65, approached the car and confronted Sin and Sith.

Sith was able to run away, at which time detectives say that Chant got into the car.

Chant then shot Sin and then himself, according to police.

Police said that Chant was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital where was listed in critical but stable condition. 

Sin was taken to Mount Carmel Hospital West Hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

Sith was not struck by the gunfire.

According to police, there is a prior domestic violence incident involving Sin and Chant who are reported to be husband and wife.

No charges have been filed at this time.
