SWAT Situation Ends With Fugitive In Custody

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, Ohio -

A fugitive was taken into custody by Columbus SWAT team members at a house on Eldon Avenue, on the city‘s west side, Sunday night.

The unnamed woman initially refused to surrender to officers who were attempting to serve an escape warrant from an undisclosed jurisdiction.

SWAT negotiators isolated the home in the 70 block of Eldon Avenue and eventually persuaded the woman to surrender.

A man who was identified as the homeowner was detained a short time while the negotiations were being conducted by the SWAT unit.

There were no injuries.

After the woman was in custody, the house remained surrounded by police while the home was searched for any possible injured or restrained inside.  No one was found and the police staging was disbanded.
