Eight units of a Circleville apartment building were destroyed early Sunday
morning during a fire.
Six fire departments responded to the 200 block of Logan Street at about
5:30 a.m.
All occupants safely escaped, but firefighters said some pet hamsters were
killed.
Logan Street and the block surrounding the fire were closed while crews
worked to put out the blaze. Residents watched from a nearby church that opened
its doors to people who were forced from their apartments by the fire.
Fire officials say investigators will go through the rubble and try to piece
together what happened on Tuesday.
