Campus authorities at Ohio University, in Athens, have issued a crime alert after reports of several arson fires early Saturday in a dormitory.
Ohio University police say that eight minor fires were set in Tiffin Hall recently. They were reported by a university employee.
Investigators found that the fires were lit by igniting papers that were hung on doors and walls. They said in some cases the papers fell and burned carpet in the building.
The incidents occurred at about 3 a.m.
They did not lead to evacuation, according to police, and there were no injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to notify police at 740-593-1911.
