A student at Ohio University told city police that he had been stabbed early Saturday morning on North Court Street.
Michael R. Gallas, 22, was found by medics with several stab wounds. He was treated at a Columbus hospital and released.
Police reports do not indicate what preceded the stabbing incident.
The suspect was vaguely described by police as a white male who is 5 feet 10 inches tall with light brown or blond hair. He was last seen wearing a white polo shirt.
Officers said that he ran north on North Court Street towards West Carpenter street, but he was not found when the area was searched.
Officers say they are continuing with an investigation into the incident.
