The body of a partially clothed woman was found under a bridge in Newark,
police say.
According to Newark police, the body was found under the state Route 79
bridge in the area of 70 North Pine Street at about 6 p.m. Friday by two
neighborhood children.
Police said that the body was that of a woman in her 40s or 50s. It appears
the woman sustained blunt force trauma to her head. The initial investigation indicated
that the woman's injuries were inconsistent with a fall.
The body was taken by the Licking County Coroner's office for an autopsy.
Detectives have not released the identity of the woman at this time.
