COLUMBUS, Ohio -
A grand jury has indicted a 72-year-old Columbus man accused of fatally stabbing his wife in their northeast side home on February 13.
Leif H. Mortensen has been charged with one count of murder and one count of tampering with evidence in connection to the murder of his wife, Margaret Mortensen, 74, at their home located on the 4300 block of Kingpin Drive.
Columbus police officers were alerted to the situation after receiving a 911 call from Leif Mortensen stating he had tried to kill himself with the same knife he used to stab his wife.
If convicted on the charges, Mortensen could face a possible sentence in excess of 15 years.
He will be arraigned on Wednesday, February 27.
