
A Columbus man has been arrested in connection with Wednesday night's homicide investigation.
Tony C. Walton, 25, was dropped off at Mount Carmel East Hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper body on Wednesday night at about 9 p.m. He later died at the hospital of his injuries, according to police.
Officers have been on the lookout for a red or maroon 1995 Ford Crown Victoria that the suspect who dropped Walton off at the hospital had been driving.
On Thursday, Columbus police SWAT officers located the vehicle in question at the Ramada Inn at 4801 E. Broad Street at about 7:45 p.m.
Officers arrested 23-year-old Antonio V. Evans without incident. He has been charged with tampering with evidence. The preliminary investigation indicates Evans drove Walton to the hospital.
