COLUMBUS, Ohio -
Columbus police detectives say a wrong-way driver is dead after he crashed his vehicle head-on into another vehicle in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 670 early Thursday morning.
Columbus police responded to I-670 east, near East 5th Avenue, at about 12:43 a.m. Thursday.
According to police, 25-year-old Casey P. Badgley, of Canal Winchester, was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-670, near Cassady Avenue, when he struck a vehicle, driven by 26-year-old Sara Vogelmeier, head-on.

Badgley was transported to Grant Medical Center in life-threatening condition where he was pronounced dead at 3:14 a.m., according to police.
Vogelmeier was transported to the Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University in critical condition. Hospital officials say she was seven-months pregnant.
She was originally listed in critical condition, according to police. Hospital officials say Vogelmeier's condition has been upgraded to serious.
Detectives say they have reason to believe Badgley was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
The eastbound lanes of I-670 were closed between Cassady and East 5th avenues while investigators from the Columbus police accident investigation unit examined the scene. The eastbound lanes reopened at about 4:50 a.m.
