Teen Accused In Mother's Stabbing Death

COLUMBUS, Ohio -

A 19-year-old man is arrested after allegedly stabbing his mother to death inside their northeast-side apartment Wednesday afternoon.

The stabbings occurred on Chestnut Ridge Loop at about 4:35 p.m. at the Ridge at Chestnut Hill apartments.

According to Columbus police, 41-year-old Latonia Banner was found dead from apparent stab wounds inside an apartment.

Police said Banner's son, Robert Lindsey, 19, was found on the front steps of the home when officers arrived. He sustained a stab wound to his leg and after treatment at Grant Medical Center, was released into police custody.

According to police, Lindsey told officers that he and his mother got into an altercation, which escalated into the stabbing.

Lindsey was charged with murder and transported to the Franklin County Jail.
