MT. VERNON, Ohio -

A Mt. Vernon woman is in custody, accused in connection with the fire at a home where a man's body was found last week.

Brad Grosscup, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene of the apartment fire on Shirley Street on Feb. 14 shortly before 7:15 p.m.

According to Mt. Vernon police, 31-year-old Amber Pilotti is in custody in the Knox County Jail, charged with aggravated arson.

Mt. Vernon police Captain George Hartz said the charge is related to the fire on Shirley Street.

Grosscup's death was ruled unrelated to the fire.  The coroner said he had been dead one or two days prior to the fire.

Mount Vernon police told NBC4 that they are investigating the death of Grosscup as a homicide.
